We're Rooted in Special Education We're rooted and experienced in special education. Jim Peterson, the founder and executive director of Trips Inc. has enjoyed nearly three decades of working with those with special needs. He has a master's degree in special education and has been the director of residential programs for adults with developmental disabilities in California and Oregon. He currently sits on the board of directors for Oregon Support Living Program and the ARC of Lane County.
Our background is evident in our affinity for, and sensitivity to, those with special needs. We are more inclusive than many similar organizations, and tailor trips to accommodate a broader range of developmental and intellectual disabilities.

We've Got Experience Our founder and executive director, Jim Peterson, has a proven track record of over 28 years of leadership and expertise in both areas of special education and travel. During that time, he's organized countless trips throughout the United States and internationally, providing cherished memories to over 10,000 travelers from all 50 states. Our dedicated staff have worked for Trips Inc. for 5-20 years with one new addition last year. Each and every employee has extensive knowledge and education in their given field. We all feel Trips Inc. is the best place to work because of the deep friendships we have developed with each other, the agencies and families we work with as well as our cherished travelers. We've Got the Best ChaperonesAll Trips Inc. chaperones are respectful, warm-hearted, fun, and inclusive. They have a keen sensitivity to the needs of those with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and they appreciate how important Trips Inc. adventures are to our special travelers. Our chaperones are school teachers, counselors, residential care providers and other caring individuals. They are carefully screened and reviewed before and after every trip! Many of our chaperones have been with us for over a decade and we frequently get requests from our travelers for their "favorite" chaperone!

We've Got Great Package DealsOur package prices include airfare from the west coast cities of Portland, Seattle, and San Francisco, and all meals at the destination. We have our own travel agent on staff who will work with you to arrange air transportation when you book your trip.
Similar agencies spend half of the trip just driving to the vacation location! Our trips are long enough to give travelers plenty of non-travel days for fun at our destination. We offer international trips to exciting places like Mexico, Scotland, Germany, Austria, Spain, Greece, New Zealand, and more!
